Nissan Xterra Redesign, Price, Review, and Specs.
Based on the latest news, the 2021 Nissan Xterra has been
announced to hit the world’s market next year or maybe in early
2021. This time Xterra will bring various upgrades starting
from the exterior look which will keep its well-known shape but
it will be more modern and more attractive. The cabin will be
refreshed with the latest technology and more quality
materials. As for the engine, the new Xterra should offer
several units this time.
Engines and performances of the 2021 Nissan Xterra
Under the hood of the new 2021 Nissan Xterra should be placed
several types of engines. For now there is no any precise
information or any specific details, and all is based on the
latest rumors. The carmaker has stopped the production of this
model, years ago, but it is very likely to get the same engine
before, but naturally, we assume that the engine will be
upgraded for better performance and improved fuel consumption.
It should also get some new engines beneath its hood, and there
should be several units in the offer.
To start with the already familiar 4.0-liter V-6 engine which
in the previous versions is able to make 261 horses and the
torque of 281 pound-feet. This engine has been coupled to a
6-speed manual transmission and it has been offered with both
front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. This time, we
can expect improvements in the performance and it is very
likely to get a new transmission.
On the other hand, one of the new options might be a 2.3-liter
turbo and twin-turbo engine which are found in the new Navara
model. This engine is capable of producing 190 hp and the
torque of 322 lb-ft. The new 2021 Nissan Xterra might also get
a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder naturally aspirated engine. This
powertrain will use a 7-speed automatic transmission. A 6-speed
manual transmission should also be one of the options. The
Ameican market should only be available with the automatic
transmission. It should offer two drivetrain configurations and
those will include rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive
For the Chinese market, we can expect either a 2.5-liter
4-cylinder diesel or gasoline unit, and the 6-speed manual
gearbox should be standard.
The exterior design of the all-new 2021 Nissan Xterra
Of all, the all-new 2021 Nissan Xterra will most likely be
based on the revised architecture and it is the same platform
which is found in the outgoing Frontier model. As for the
external appearance, this time we are expecting a new look
meaning that it will get a more modern and more handsome
design. And according to the latest news, the Xterra should
borrow some similar design cues from the Navara model. On the
other hand, the Xterra will retain its familiar rugged
appearance but the design of the hood and the mirror caps will
be very close to the ones found in the Navara SUV.
The front end should receive the brand’s well-known V-motion
grille design, square headlamps, and a new design of the
bumper. The whole front fascia will feature a more aggressive
design. Around back, the new 2021 Nissan Xterra should be
refreshed with new taillights, a sportier bumper, and we might
see some new designs of the wheels and perhaps a few more
The interior design of the 2021 Nissan Xterra
At first, we have heard the news about two versions of the
seating configurations of the 2021 Nissan Xterra. And it is
said that it should be offered with two-row and three row
seating configurations meaning that it will be able to place up
to five or seven passengers. On the other hand, the least news
indicates, that the 2021 Nissan Xterra will only be available
with two rows and the maximum seating capacity will be up to
five. Naturally, nothing is yet officially confirmed and we
will have to wait for the manufacturer’s official announcement.
2021 Nissan Xterra cabin
What we can say for sure, is that the new Xterra will get a
more comfortable and more quality cabin which will be made of
premium materials. We can expect more modern technology and
more safety features too. The dashboard will also be modernized
and will get a larger touchscreen with the latest infotainment
system. Some sources have revealed that the manufacturer won’t
offer the Nissan’ ProPILOT Assist semi-autonomous system, but
this is also not official.
Release date and price of the 2021 Nissan Xterra
The all-new 2021 Nissan Xterra should be presented to the world
in late 2019 or most likely at the beginning of 2021. The price
is not yet available, however, according to our predictions, it
should start at around $40,000 for the base model while the
higher trim levels will cost roughly $55,000.
